Yesterday, I really really wanted a dog. This thing has been going on since I was little. Unfortunately my mom doesn’t want a pet, but I do. We made a deal that if I do all the research, test out what a dog is like by borrowing my grandparents and the building allows pets then we can get one. Right now I’m still doing all the research. I can’t wait until the research is done.

So far in my research, Havanese is the dog breed that would be best for me. We’re probably going to get a Havanese because it was recommended by two people on our walk yesterday. Havanese are great with children and an awesome breed of dog, they are a great size (small), and they are super cute!

Yesterday I learned about spaying and neutering….eeuwww….so sad! I was terrified when I found out about that. I also learned that there’s 10 plants that can poison pups so I need to know what they are so I can protect my dog. I also found the closest vet and animal hospital to my house. We live on 84th street. The hospital is on 86th street and the vet is on 83rd. I learned that Tiffany, my grandparents dog, is a Yorkie.

I still need information specific to the Havanese because when I started doing my research I thought I was going to get a West Highland White Terrier. I need information about living with and training my dog. I also need information about all the costs involved.

This is a Havanese.

Today’s Morning Journal Topic:

What was your favorite part of the March/April 2008 issue of American Girl magazine? Why?

my answer:

My favorite part was probably the short story The Mummy’s Secret by “Kathleen O’Dell”. I liked it because it was an exciting and mysterious story. In the story, my favorite part was at the end when Libby (the main character) gets surprised by her friend Sasha about how good of an artist she is. My opinion about the story is that it is very entertaining and surprising. I hope the next story in the next issue is just as exciting as this one.

Today, I went to my friends’ Karis, Brock, Malia and Diego’s house. Karis is 7, I am 6, Brock is 9, Diego is 1 and Malia is 3. We all did a play for my mom and their mom. Me and Karis were the princesses. It started off with the two princesses riding on the horses. My horse was names Anika and Karis’s horse was named Karis. We named them after our names. Karis’s play name was Susan and my name was Lucy. Brock’s play name was Elephant King. And then suddenly Brock came out. He was dressed up as an elephant with a blanket around him that covered his whole body. He had a stuffed animal on his head. So he came out while we were riding on our horses and he captured us and put is in a castle. It wasn’t a real castle. What we did for the castle was a toy castle that Karis found in the closet. So he put us in there and that was called capturing us. And then me and Karis broke out through the doors. Our horses were outside the castle. So we broke through the doors and Karis grabbed Brock’s sword and killed him. He tried to escape but we got him. That was the fighting part. Brock had a sidekick, my brother. That was the end.
